TendWell is built with your dog's wellbeing — and your privacy — in mind. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.
Your dog's profile — name, breed, age, weight, sex, coat type, and physical traits you enter voluntarily.
Photos you take within the app when using the Health Scan feature.
Locally generated data — care event logs, scan records, and monthly recap summaries stored on your device via SwiftData.
Contact information — the email address you optionally provide during onboarding.
How you heard about us — the acquisition source you optionally select during onboarding.
Usage data — information about how you use the app (screens viewed, tasks completed, features used, trial starts, and purchases), tied to a random per-install identifier rather than to your name.
Advertising data — with your permission (see “Advertising & Tracking” below), a device advertising identifier used to measure the effectiveness of our ads.
Health Scan photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered visual analysis. Images are transmitted securely over HTTPS and are not retained by TendWell after the analysis is returned. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle data on their end.
Dog profile data is used solely to personalise your care schedule and is never uploaded to TendWell servers — it lives on your device only.
Your email address, if provided, is used to send occasional care tips and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Usage data and acquisition source help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. This information is tied to an anonymous per-install identifier, not to your name.
We share limited data — app events (such as installs, trial starts, and purchases), a device advertising identifier (only with your permission), and a hashed, unreadable version of your email — with TikTok to measure and improve our advertising. We never share your dog's photos, health scans, or care data with any advertising partner, and we do not sell your personal data.
Your dog's profile, scan records, care logs, and recaps are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and are never uploaded to our servers. The email address you provide and anonymous usage data are transmitted securely to and stored on TendWell's servers. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data; to request deletion of data held on our servers, contact us at arshkabarwal@gmail.com.
TendWell uses the TikTok Business SDK to understand which of our ads bring people to the app. On iOS 14 and later, the app asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any cross-app tracking identifier is used. If you decline, the app works exactly the same and no advertising identifier is shared.
You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
TendWell uses the Anthropic Claude API to analyse photos submitted through the Health Scan feature (see Anthropic's Privacy Policy), and a hosting provider for the backend that receives the email address and usage data described above.
TendWell uses the TikTok Business SDK for advertising measurement, as described above. See TikTok's Privacy Policy for how TikTok handles data.
TendWell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can delete all locally stored app data at any time by uninstalling TendWell. You can withdraw tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. To request deletion of your email or usage data held on our servers, or for any other questions about your data, contact us at arshkabarwal@gmail.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of TendWell after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
